Overview
Tru-Optic ("we," "us") operates tru-optic.com and app.tru-optic.com. This policy explains what information we collect when you use our website and platform, how we use it, and the choices you have.
Information we collect
We collect the following information:
- Account information — your name, email address, and password when you create an account.
- Billing information — payment details are collected and processed by our payment processor. We do not store your full card number on our servers.
- Content you create — tags, notes, saved views, and community edits you submit within the platform.
- Usage data — pages visited, features used, and general device and browser information, collected through analytics.
How we use your information
We use this information to:
- Provide and operate the Tru-Optic platform.
- Process your subscription payments.
- Respond to support requests.
- Understand how the product is used so we can improve it.
- Send service-related emails, such as billing notices and important product updates.
What we don't do
We never sell your personal information. We never share your usage data with third parties, except for the service providers we rely on to run Tru-Optic (such as hosting, payment processing, and analytics), who are only permitted to use your information to provide services to us.
Your content and privacy within the platform
Your searches, tags, notes, and saved views are private to your account (or, on Enterprise plans, shared only with team members you choose). One exception: community ownership edits you submit are visible to other Tru-Optic users — that is their purpose. Do not include confidential information in community edits.
Cookies and analytics
We use essential cookies to keep you signed in, and analytics to understand how visitors use our website and product. We do not use third-party advertising cookies.
Data retention and deletion
We keep your information for as long as your account is active. To delete your account and associated data, email support@tru-optic.com and we will process your request.
Security
We use industry-standard measures to protect your information, including encryption in transit. No method of storage or transmission is 100% secure, but we work to protect your data using appropriate safeguards.
Children
Tru-Optic is a professional tool and is not directed to individuals under 18. We do not knowingly collect information from children.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, or delete your personal information. To exercise any of these rights, contact us at support@tru-optic.com.

If we make material changes to this policy, we will post the updated version on this page and update the date at the top.
